London: Olympic Host City

Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London has said of London's Warm-up Weekend: "This is a fantastic opportunity for Londoners to watch world-class athletes in some of London's finest sporting venues. This is the first real chance for Londoners to start seeing future Olympic venues like Hyde Park in action and to cheer on GB athletes who are hopefuls for London 2012."

Game On at The O2: 4 Nations Basketball: 14 Aug

Turkey, Poland and Israel compete with Team GB in this three-day event, which precedes the European EuroBasket Championships in Poland in September. The tournament runs for three days and ticketholders see two games per day. On 15 August, Great Britain play Poland at 6pm, and Turkey takes on Israel at 8.30pm. The Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championships Series: 15 Aug

London will be the sixth of the seven stages in the series. There is an elite men's and women's race and a mass participation race. The event in London over 15 and 16 August also includes youth, junior and paratriathlon races and an expo. The Modern Pentathlon Championships: 16 Aug

The World Championships are the biggest event on the Modern Pentathlon calendar. This is the first time they have been held in the UK since 2001 and it is the first championship to feature the sport's new combined run/shoot format.
